 BIOGRAFI MY IDOL IS TONY Q
Tony Waluyo Sukmoasih (popularly known as Tony Q Tony Q or Rastafara, born in Semarang, Central Java, 27 April 1961 aged 48 years) is an Indonesian singer reggae wing who has been active in diversity since 1989. He along with his musical group Rastafara popularizing the term "dreadlocks" (hair style dreadlock) in Indonesia through songs with the same title in 1996. Tony Q has become an icon of reggae music of Indonesia. He is considered a pioneer of reggae in Indonesia, because he not only engaged in these kinds of long time, but also develop character reggaenya own music, where he put a lot of traditional Indonesian elements into his music, and raised the typical themes of Indonesia in his music.
Tony Q is a graduate of STM Shipping in Semarang. Before plunging into the world of music, in 1980 Tony Q has worked for six months in the quality control (quality control) in a canning factory owned by Singapore company in Cakung, East Jakarta. But then he left the job and chose to become singers in the streets and a musician, his family faced hard opposition. He had become a musician for five to six years in the area of ​​Blok M, Jakarta.According to an interview with Tony Q on Radio Netherlands Worldwide, before plunging in reggae music, he never played blues, rock, even country music. In 1989 he finally chose to his reggae music which he can not escape from public life. Q Tony was deeply idolizes Bob Marley, the late renowned Jamaican reggae musician.Q Tony reggaenya musical career started in 1989 with Roots Rock Reggae band. Regular gig from cafe to cafe music performances or events in Jakarta. After incorporating many reggae bands such as Exodus and Rastaman, finally in 1994 he formed the band that became quite famous Rastafara as a bearer flow reggae music in Indonesia at that time. Together Rastafara he had released two albums, namely "Gimbal Hair" (1996) and "I'm Falling In Love" (1997).Almost all the songs on the album were created Tony Q, with the lyrics of the song that many social theme, humanity, love, and people's lives everyday. One of the popular song is "Hair Gimbal," a term for dreadlock hair styles that are often used by followers of the Rastafari movement, which then indirectly be used as a term in the Indonesian language that became popular because of the song.
